I love the look of open shelves and it’s ability to showcase beautiful dishes or any other display worthy collections in a harmonious theme…..

I think open shelving works if the objects on display are beautiful/unusual and artfully arranged.
The examples below were found on a home decor website but don’t care for them as they feel messy to me. I wouldn’t enjoy working in any of these spaces…..it could be the OCD part of me as I need order and these examples make me feel frazzled just looking at them. I’m just wondering if anyone else feels the same?

I’m hoping this last example is in a closed door pantry…..who wants to see all the ugly packages?
How to arrange your open shelving displays so they look fabulous:
-
• Use objects in similar colours and/or shape
• Keep good spacing between each grouping so it doesn’t look cluttered & messy
• Keep them dust free
• And my favourite……….go by feel. How does it make you feel when looking at it? If you like it does it really matter what anyone else thinks? I may not like the last few examples above, but someone else did. 😉
i LOVE the look of open shelving in the kitchen. I think it’s especially pretty with stacked whiteware and little touches of color. Great collection of photos you’ve got here!
Thank you! I love to look at beautiful things 🙂
I love open shelving, too, but I have a hard time keeping it neat!
If it was just me it wouldn’t be a problem…..but with other family members 😛 haha good luck!
