Dreaming of a Master Bathroom: “The Plan”

Our home here in Alberta has been undergoing change since possession day last May (2012). It’s an older home built in 1979 with a backyard backing onto the forest. When I first walked into it with the realtor, I just KNEW it was THE ONE!
The one to suck up finances as we slowly make our way thru getting our home to where we want it.

Next on the list will be the master bathroom. I’ve had a love affair for years with all things rustic, Moroccan, French, & Italian….so where to start? I want a bathroom that is spa-like and has texture. A shower that has presence, and a bathtub that speaks to me when I walk in- and soothes me when I sink into the bubbles. Yup. It will happen. What is my process for deciding on THE LOOK? Pinterest. Houzz. Magazines. HGTV. Blogs. Yup. My inspirations that will get me to the goal of figuring out how I want it to look…….and then give it to David to make it all happen. Yes, I get the fun job!!! πŸ™‚

There are of course hurdles to this master plan. Finances, size, & resources. We have a budget that has to be followed (sad but true), the bathroom isn’t very big, and even though I’d love to have venetian plaster walls………who the heck does that around here?? Ugh….living in Northern Alberta can be limiting.

Here are some photos I’ve collected for inspiration:

Now to just make it all happen! Yes, this will be me at the end of it……. ♥
