Well, our episode of House Hunters International in Cabarete, Dominican Republic finally aired in Canada!
From the HGTV website:
-
Canadian Couple’s Retreat to Cabarete, Dominican Republic
-
Episode HHINT-4703H
“Carol and David have had it with home renovations in Alberta, Canada and need a getaway. Their plan is to head to the lush jungles and beautiful beaches of the Northern Coast of the Dominican Republic to relax, reconnect, and purchase a vacation home that will double as a rental property. Agreeing on another home could be walk on the beach for a dreamer and a realist, or prove disastrous. Find out when House Hunters International escapes to Cabarete, Dominican Republic.”
Watch it here 🙂
I started to think of the famous scene from the movie “Sunset Boulevard” where Norma Desmond a once famous actress, goes insane at the end…..(yes, after watching our episode I enacted this scene in front of my family as I am a bit crazy that way)
The storyline as written on IMDb:
“The story, set in ’50s Hollywood, focuses on Norma Desmond, a silent-screen goddess whose pathetic belief in her own indestructibility has turned her into a demented recluse. The crumbling Sunset Boulevard mansion where she lives with only her butler, Max who was once her director and husband has become her self-contained world. Norma dreams of a comeback to pictures and she begins a relationship with Joe Gillis, a small-time writer who becomes her lover, that will soon end with murder and total madness.”

and if you’re a Carol Burnett fan (who isn’t that used to watch the show) you’ll appreciate this one!
The whole experience of doing an episode for House Hunters International was fun and highly unlikely to ever be repeated, as it was a one off for us to ever have been asked to do it.
Would I do it again? Absol-friggen-lutely!
So yes, I’m ready for my closeup Mr. Demille! 😉
