I want to ride my Bicycle!

A few years ago I decided to get a bicycle. It had been years since I had one and I missed the easy freedom of pedaling under my own steam in order to get somewhere……..or just to slow down and see what normally would be missed while driving in the car.
I didn’t want just ANY bicycle. I wanted a cruiser! The criteria for this new bike was:

    1. it had to be pretty (yes-#1 criteria)
    2. it had to be comfortable to ride
    3. it had to have a basket
    4. it had to have a bell

So I began the search.

I searched the internet for inspiration and information and there are many companies out there that make wonderful bicycles: Schwinn, Pashley, Batavus, Gazelle, Koga Miyata (makers of an electric bike if you ever need backup energy if yours runs out), but I decided to go with the Electra as it fit all the criteria and was easy to aquire.

After reading through a number of bicycle related blogs I found one that I will be following. The blogger is located in the city of Edmonton, which is the closest city to us…..but still a 4-1/2 hour drive. The blog is called Girls and Bicycles and written by a lady who’s lifestyle is certainly very pedal focused….and she looks amazing while doing it!
While I envy her energy, I know that I will keep my pedal activities to pure leisure and keep the car ready for running errands etc.

My bicycle in all it’s beautiful glory *sigh*…. 🙂

The vision I have of me riding my bike (deluded but I’m allowed)…….only I can’t put my dog in the basket….

because he prefers the car….

Merlin

Notice the Booster Juice behind him? He’s smiling because he just finished sucking all of it through the straw when I wasn’t looking. Irish Wolfhounds are piggies (at least mine is)!
